Is A Destination Wedding Or A Local Wedding The Right Fit For You?

If you are feeling adventurous, then a destination wedding is something you might consider. Plan to be flexible with your choices as many decisions are made without first seeing the venue in person.  Also, if it is in your budget, then might choose a vacation spot along with a local affair for guests who may not be able to travel.

Local weddings can be easier to organize because you are able to see the place first hand and plan everything as you see it without any miscommunication. You will be able to be in contact with the venue and do as many walk through’s as needed so your wedding is set up for your standards.  

The size of a local wedding is easier to expand than a destination wedding should additional guests respond.

Consider including these standard costs of a wedding (based on preferences) such as the wedding dress and groom’s suit, bridesmaids and groomsmen outfits plus additional fees for a destination wedding not incurred with a local wedding such as; passports or visas, flight and hotel package, photographer and their transportation costs (if desired), destination wedding planner, décor, and the reception.

A local venue, will work with you to prepare a package for your special day. 

In the long run, making the decision to have a destination wedding or a local wedding is based on the bride and groom's preferences. Looking at both the pros and cons of a destination or a local wedding will help in the decision making process.
